My Approach

As a therapist, my goal is to provide compassion, information, support, reassurance, expertise and guidance.  I enjoy collaborating with individuals, parents and families to ease day-to-day struggles while also resolving the underlying patterns that continue to create distress.


My sole objective is to get you feeling better as quickly as possible. 

My training is in the Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches to therapy, with influence from the mindfulness and Internal Family Systems approaches. In simpler terms: I believe in the goodness of you and help you to feel seen and heard; I help you to examine your beliefs about yourself; I offer concrete ways to challenge your anxious or destructive thoughts; and I guide you to stay mindful of how you experience your feelings in your physical body.

I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families as both an educator and a therapist and I am also a parent myself. I am fluent in Spanish and have a background in health education. ​I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences

I encourage people to remember that the key to a “satisfying” therapy experience is to find a therapist whose style works for you! I offer a free consultation to see if we are a good fit; if we determine that you might be better helped by someone else, I can offer referrals to other skilled professionals.
